WHO WE ARE

         “We intend to start with the youth. We believe that when we, especially the youth, become familiar with the ecological set up and biodiversity around them, a sense of belonging comes into being and they will surely identify the serious threats our environment has and eventually, they will do something to safeguard what they considered part of nature” 

EMAI – The Trust for Environment Monitoring and Action Initiating – is a registered entity since 2005 in the service of nature and humans. The trust mainly focuses on environmental issues. 

The Trust believes in restoring, maintaining and improving the quality of interaction between the environment and humans. It also brings awareness to neighbourhood communities on conservation of the natural habitat to promote biodiversity. In today’s world, our environment is threatened largely by anthropogenic activities than ever before. At the same time, today’s youth are do what they can to  prevent environmental deterioration and to preserve natural environment. The members of the trust consist of environmentalists, student enthusiasts, environmental lawyers and many more who wish to take the cause of environment and wildlife protection, a step further. 

To this end, EMAI hopes to:

• Make all efforts to protect and preserve the environment

• Endeavour to maximize awareness among people through consolidated efforts and systematic analysis of the environment also make them aware of their rights and strength through education and training programs

• Carry out statistical and biological research for preservation of flora and fauna.

• Ensure effective use of the legal process to redress public grievances – relating to depletion of the environment

• Create and mobilize public opinion and suggest improvement in public health and safety, public utilities and services and the environment.
