Based on the request by Social Work Team Trust (SWOTT) & PWD-WRD Additional Engineer, EMAI is involved in creating a micro-habitat for butterflies and birds. EMAI initiated the project on 8th July 2020. A preliminary vertebral faunal study was conducted to decide on the suitable eco-system that can merge with the available eco-system.
SIRUSERI LAKE
A Baseline Survey of the Avifauna of Siruseri Wetland – A Study conducted by EMAI – Trust for Pitchandikulam Forest Consultants. The survey was started on 26 November 2018 by a team of twelve bird watchers, conservationists, environmentalists, and volunteers of EMAI for twenty-five days till 25 January 2019. The entire survey was spearheaded by EMAI. Field studies carried out by a team of naturalists over the past two months reveal the presence of more than seventy bird species among which over thirty to forty are residents.
